CELEBRATING OUR FIRST YEAR:
Under the leadership of Dr. Danna Diaz, our team was able to spend the last year launching the local HWNT chapter. Thanks to our fearless leader, we were able to officially get our local chapter status from the HWNT state board of directors. Our founding board members laid out a solid foundation for the future. We have many accomplishments to be proud of from the last year:
-We were officially recognized as a chapter by the HWNT state board
-We kicked off our first annual college scholarship
-We hosted a school supply drive to benefit head start children
-We supported the Quince Project to host a charity quinceanera for deserving girls
-We hosted an easter basket drive for a local children's shelter
-We hosted a toiletry drive for a local woman's shelter
-We hosted a thanksgiving food drive to sponsor a meal at the Posada homeless shelter
-We partnered with the Viva la Mujer festival
Thanks to Dr. Diaz for helping launch our local chapter. We are proud of her outstanding efforts to bring the HWNT chapter to our local El Paso community. We wish her much good fortune as she embarks on her next chapter as the superintendent at San Juan Island School District.
