LATINAS IN PROGRESS WORKSHOPS:
Throughout
the fall, our team mentored a group of local teens in monthly college
prep and leadership workshops. Our girls were attentive and excited to
be part of our program. We would like to thank Aurora Anaya- Dyer for
hosting a Visioning Workshop to help our girls envision their future
goals. Also, a huge thank you to Sara Aragon for giving a very
successful leadership workshop and sharing helpful tips to the girls on
how to handle stress. Special thanks to our program partners at
Southwest University and Vista College for hosting a campus tour and
college student panels. Thanks to Monica Quiett, Sara Aragon and Yolanda
Vazquez for sharing their college experience during our September 10th
session. Thank you to our HWNT members for helping inspire the next
generation of college bound leaders.
TOILETRY DRIVE
Thanks to all our members who support our toiletry drive by donating items to support the Opportunity Homeless Shelter.
Or team gathered items such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, hair brushes and lotion that will provide much-needed assistance to the local homeless community.
