Personal & Professional Development

HWNT seeks to promote the advancement of women in public, corporate and civic life through education, personal and professional development. Throughout the year, we focus on empowering women through a series of presentations and programs focused on personal and professional development.

INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP PANEL:
Our members strive to celebrate the positive image and values of the Hispanic culture. HWNT Members Sara Aragon, Alicia Rascon and Julianne Flores participated in the Hispanic Heritage session of the Inclusive Leadership Panel at the University of Texas at El Paso on September 13. The Inclusive Leadership Panel Series is a monthly program dedicated to celebrating diverse leaders from UTEP and the El Paso community.

HWNT ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE:
HWNT's Conference is an annual event focused on providing professional development and networking for professional women and college students at all levels of their career. A team of our members along with our recent scholarship winner attended the conference in Austin, TX. This two and half-day seminar gave our members the opportunity to meet and visit with women from all over the State of Texas.

STRONG ZUMBA CLASS:
Thanks to ISlay Fitness and Nutrition for hosting our HWNT team for a Strong Zumba class!! Our HWNT members received fitness tips from Coach Miriam during our HWNT August meeting. Coach Miriam Campos was born and raised in El Paso. She started her career in sales and business in the insurance industry after graduating from UTEP. She then opened an Herbalife Nutrition club which has now been operating for 2 years on the Eastside of El Paso.

WELLNESS WORKSHOP:  Special thanks to nurse and coach Jennifer L. Armendariz for serving as a guest speaker for our July meeting on the topic of wellness. She has been a nurse practitioner for 9 years and worked at Texas Oncology for the last 5 years. She has two kids, Sofia and Ethan. She shared her love for fitness and health with our members.
